A aluna do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Química da UFBA também apresentou oralmente o trabalho intitulado “Mapping of Articles and Patents on Algae Biodiesel: A Study among Brics Brazil and India”.O evento, iniciativa do The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) e da Indian Phycological Society, e contou com a participação do Prof. Ednildo Andrade Torres na comissão científica e teve como patrocinadores The Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research e Reliance Industries, contou com mais de 150 participantes de diversos países como EUA, Israel, Malásia, Bélgica, China, Japão, entre outros. As algas são consideradas consideradas biocombustíveis de terceira geração. Posuem muitas vantagens que os tornam preferíveis sobre biocombustíveis de primeira e segunda geração, que são derivados de fontes tais como amido, açúcar, gorduras, de origem animal e óleo vegetal; e as culturas lignocelulósicos, respectivamente.
